Regarding Okinawa, here's what happened to the best of my recollection. The 96th arrived quite a while before the 207th and was operating out of an automotive shop building in the Machinato Service Area when we arrived with the 207th. They attempted to employ the 96th for all on-site work and the 207th for all shop work, but ran into many problems. Both units were assigned to the Ordnance Group under USARYIS and had only a support relationship with the ADA. The Tech Supply Sections of both units were combined. There were just not enough people for the way we operated so the Ord Gp augmented the missile shop with a TDA and hired some civilians who were mostly used in the Ord-6 run by Don Booth which had both sets of Ord-6 equipment. An MWO Section was created as well as a combined Production Control Section, and it seemed that we were in a constant state of flux. Not long before I left, the HAWK units arrived and were integrated into the setup. That's pretty much the way it was when I left in 1961
When I returned in 1969 the two units no longer existed and the 44th Ord Co had been created and assigned to the 30th Bde.
