Hello Doyle, Thanks for the invite to submit Nike Maintenance Stories.

The biggest maintenance problem in the IFC area was troubleshooting the Simultaneous Tracking Test out of tolerence at Pacifica Site (86?), Presidio of San Francisco. The site was off the air for over 2 weeks. I finally located the problem in the AZ Data Bearing that became egg shape from long usage with winds from one direction. A world wide modification came out to replace all AZ and EL Data Bearings.

Channel 2 TV also cause a constant pointing error in our tracking radars. The interconnecting cables at the IFC area acted as loop antennas picking up Ch 2 which is close in frequency to the IF frequency.

I have other problems if you wish to have them. Some problems are related to weather. I get together with you again.
