Remarks: I just read the entire guest log.
This isn't my first trip to this site. It's a good one. A-1-71, Rockville, Maryland, D Battery 562nd at Tolchester Beach, Maryland, C-4-1, Edgewood Arsenal Maryland, etc, etc, Okinawa, Germany, Fort Bliss, White Sands/Macgreagor Range. All Great memories of great times.
I drew the only royal flush of my life while on SNAP at macgreagor range. Had 4 spades showing, didn't have the last one, but drew the last one on the last card. I bet the world on it, but nobody stayed.
Does anyone out there remember SFC Charlie Viers. He was a Platoon Sergeant at C41 at Edgewood Arsenal MD ( had a speech impediment). He retired and then spent another 20 at least with US postal service in El Paso TX. Heck, he might still be working for them. I used to see him a lot, but I left El Paso in 1985. Haven't seen or heard from him since.
Again, this is a great site. keep up the good work.
Webmaster's Note: Herschel served in the 545th Engineer Detachment, Field Maintenance, Hercules, Missile Installation Electricial Equipment Repair at Machinato, Okinawa with an MOS of 62C30 and a rank of SP5 from July 1962 to November, 1963.

Remarks: I was the Asst. S4, Property Book Officer and Fire Marshal at McGregor GM Missle Range 1957 - 1959. I was there when Douglas engineers were firing acceptance shots and losing the Herc on its initial turn. The heat being generated by that initial turn at McGregor, due to the shortness of the range compared to White Sands, was burning the wiring. Saw McGregor go from a four missle site, four building complex to 26 sites and two messhalls, four assembly buildings and untold other buildings. Lt. Col. George Charlton was the CO. I just saw Ajax and Hercules on display at the Canaveral Air Force Station today at the Kenedy Space Center.
Webmaster's Note: Joseph served at McGregor Range, Fort Bliss, TX in Supply as the Asst. S4 with a rank of 1st Lt from 04/57 to 11/59.
